Homeless people tell of reality on streets and 'lifeline' charity's help

"I'm going to end up dead." These are the heartbreaking words of a homeless man, living on the streets of Teesside.

And as the winter nights start to roll in, homeless people are already fearing the freezing months ahead - and how they will cope living open to the elements. However, some homeless people in Middlesbrough say they have a renewed "positive attitude" - and that is down to a new charity hub called Doorways on Princes Road.

These are the words of frightened Middlesbrough schoolgirl Amelia Palmer, whose fun day out with friends quickly became any parent's worst nightmare. Anger after gran found with dirty feet in ‘faeces' stained room in care home

A family has raised concerns over a care home's treatment of their beloved grandma after she was found with dirty feet, called "nasty" and had “faeces” stains on her bedroom walls.

Lilian Vickers, who suffers from dementia, first moved into Roseville Care Centre, in Ingleby Barwick, just before the pandemic struck. The 81-year-old was initially in supported living at the Blair Avenue site but was eventually moved into the care home.

Residents on a "bedlam" Stockton estate woke to a crime scene on their doorsteps after a late-night "shooting" left a man in hospital.

Crime scene investigators donning white suits descended on Tilery Road on Friday morning after reports that a man was shot overnight. Evidence markers were scattered across the residential street, with a huge cordon wrapping around a number of houses as police officers stood on guard at each side.

New owner of former Middlesbrough M&S confirmed as 'big things' promised

The new owner of Middlesbrough's former Marks and Spencer store has been confirmed.

Teesside Live can reveal that Linthorpe 54 Ltd has acquired the Linthorpe Road building from the national chain. Directors at the firm include local businessman Nasser Din and retail entrepreneur Zahid Iqbal, the man behind several shopping centres in the UK including The Packhorse Centre in Huddersfield and Batley Plaza.

Teesside nurses argue they could be 'paid more in Aldi' as strike action rages on across the country.

Members of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) have taken to the picket lines outside James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, once again to fight for fair pay and safer staffing. The RCN recently rejected the Government's pay offer of a 5% pay rise for 2023/24 - as well as a lump sum bonus for last year.

Fed-up residents say they "dread dark nights" as their estate continues to be plagued with prostitution and drug issues.

From public sex acts to needles being littered on the green, those living on a Newport estate off Union Street say they have "had enough" of the area's bad behaviour - and want something done about it.

Worker's dramatic escape after excavator topples into River Tees

A worker was submerged in the River Tees for up to a minute after an excavator plunged into the water while he was inside, eyewitnesses have said.

Further details have now emerged after emergency services were called to Tees Dock Road, Grangetown, on Wednesday to reports machinery had fallen onto a man.
